Newborns 2012 Baby "B" {Melfort, Sk Family, Newborn, Seniors, Engagement and Wedding Photographer}
I had the pleasure of meeting this little man when he was 8 days old. I found it amazing how you can forget what it is like to cuddle these wee little ones. He let me rock him to sleep during our session. I did this session at his home because it was minus 50 here. Way too cold for baby to come to the studio. Thanks for the little snuggles little man!

Journey Home... {Melfort, Sk Family, Newborn, Seniors, Engagement and Wedding Photographer}
On Halloween October 31,2011 I was contacted by the Vickar family to come with them to their old homestead and to photograph the adventure. It was totally fate that everything aligned for me to join them on this adventure. This was the most touching journey I was blessed to be a part of. I met the family in Gronlid, Sk I spent just about 3 hours with them. I met Mr. and Mrs. Vickar along with their son Mr. and Mrs. Vickar. We started out on the highway chatting and getting to know each other. Our first stop was a graveyard. I know what most would be thinking a graveyard on Halloween. It was the total opposite of "scary" the sun was so bright, the sky so blue, the wind so calm. It was very peaceful. I followed the family around the graveyard photographing them remembering a different time, and different people that have come and gone in their lives. It was very touching.
Father and Son remembering friends of the past,
Our next stop was the synagogue. When I walked into the building immediately fell in love with it and how well it has been kept up over the years. The lighting was spectacular inside. As soon as we walked in the stories just flowed out of Mr. Vickar I photographed while he told stories and educated me on why things were where they were. Who sat in certain spots he remembers seeing his father sitting in a specific spot while attending the synagogue every Sunday.
An old piano in a room just off of the entrance
The women and children sat up on the balcony and the men sat on the main floor
Signing the guest book
I was up on the balcony
Very beautiful isn't it? After we left here our next stop was the Eden Bridge
Mr. Vickar was saying that he used to swim just down the river. We left Eden Bridge and went to his old homestead. I wasn't sure what to expect, deep inside I was hoping there were some really old buildings still standing but when arrived this is what we saw.
The only thing left standing was a telephone pole with some wires and three silos. The homestead is now a field after a fire destroyed the homestead. This journey touched me so much I could feel all the emotions Mr. Vickar and his family were feeling.
We had to stop and get this photograph for sure
If you have ever been to Gronlid, Sk and when you see the big Diamond "Welcome to Gronlid" sign you can think that there used to be a house right there with a garage. This was the house that Young Mr. Vickar grew up in.
I will forever be grateful to have photographed this journey the Vickar family included me on. You will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for sharing a part of you with me.
